Detoxication
Detoxication in the direct sense of the word is achievement
of the condition free from drugs. Detoxication from opiates also mean treatment
for abstinent disorders inevitable when drug is not taken.
It is important to understand that detoxication is not
the treatment for narcotism. It is just the first but absolutely necessary step
to escape from drug addiction.
We offer fast, painless and effective detoxication methods
both outpatient and inpatient.
Outpatient treatment
Treatment lasts 5-7 days on average. During this entire
time patient stay at home, Family shall take part in the treatment controlling
administration of medicines prescribed by doctor and state of the patient. 1-2
times a day patient shall visit clinics accompanied by any of his/her family
members or close friends. In clinics the patient’s health is valued, and injections
prescribed by doctor are administrated to his/her in order t prevent from abstinent
effects. Patient and his/her family may contact the doctor in charge any time
of the day.
We guarantee the patient will not feel any serious abstinent
disorder (so-called breaking).
Advantages:
·
Low costs
·
No necessity to stay
in hospital.
Disadvantages:
·
Long time
·
Probable recurrent
drug addiction at any treatment stage because patient is not in the environment
free from drugs.
Attention: Outpatient-treated patient shall
avoid any dangerous work (work with mechanisms, high-altitude works, etc.)
It is strongly prohibited to drive vehicles as medicines
prescribed for abstinent symptom reduction invoke impaired co-ordination of
movements and slow the reaction.
Inpatient detoxication
Five-day detoxication
It is administrated in department of intensive care
and reanimation. Patient is administrated with high doses of sedatives and abstinence
reducing medicines. Practically, the entire time patient is in state of deep
medication sleep.
Naltrexone therapy begins on the 3rd - 4th
day. Abstinent manifestations are feebly marked or absent at all.
On the fifth day patient is administrated with a full
dose (50 mg) of Naltrexone, or long-term effect Naltrexone medicine is implanted
to.
After that Patient is discharged from the hospital.
Advantages:
·
Low costs
·
100% guarantee of
complete detoxication.
Disadvantages:
·
Long stay at hospital
·
Contradicted to patients
with obstructive lung diseases.
Fast detoxication in conditions
of general anaesthesia
This is the fastest and most comfortable way to achieve
condition free from opiates. It is based on administration of medicines, which
have effect of opiate antagonists, under certain method. These medicines penetrate
nerve cells very fast and lead to intensive clearance of opiate receptors from
heroin and other opiates.
Thus, detoxication process accelerates much and lasts
6-8 hours on average.
Description of the treatment:
Patient is hospitalised about 10 hours in advance to
the treatment.
There are fulfilled required investigations (thorax
x-ray, electrocardiogram, total blood analysis and biochemical blood analysis,
urine analysis). Patient s prescribed for medication, which eases treatment
and makes it safer.
Later, patient is administrated with medicines for general
anaesthesia; patient falls asleep and is switched to artificial ventilation
of lungs. All parameters of patient physical state (arterial blood pressure,
pulse, cardiogram, temperature, blood oxygenation, carbon dioxide concentration
in blood) are monitored.
According to special scheme patient is administrated
with opiate antagonists, Naloxone and Naltrexone,
After detoxication is finished supply of general anaesthesia
drugs is reduced and patient wakes up.
Naltrexone medicines are implanted at the end of the
treatment. Patient stays at the department of intensive care for 10 – 18 hours
after detoxication is finished. After that patient may be discharged from the
hospital.
Advantages:
·
Fast recovery and
return to life free from drugs
·
Comfort
·
100% guarantee of
detoxication
Disadvantages:
·
High costs
Most frequently asked questions about fast detoxication.
1.
Is the fast detoxication a new treatment
method?
This method was described in details in 1988. From this
time fast opiate detoxication is widely applied in many clinics.
2.
Is it dangerous?
Danger of fast opiate detoxication is associated often
with harmful and dangerous effect of general anaesthesia. We are sure that modern
general anaesthesia is absolutely safe procedure provided competent fulfilment.
Nowadays, fast opiate detoxication is administrated
to pregnant women and newborn children born by drug addict mothers. There are
no available data about any complication in such cases. Our experience also
evidences that no serious complication accompanies this treatment.

detoxication?
Most patients feel weakness, sleepiness. Some patients
